Aforklift(also called alift truck, aHyster, astacker-truck, or aside loader) is a powered industrial truck used to lift and transport materials. It is one of the most dangerous means of transportation and as a result all operators are required to undergo accredited training every two years as stipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.

Purpose of training

The purpose of the training is to assist Learners to become competent in skills and knowledge in Operating of Lift Trucks.

The learning has a dual advantage, namely:

F   Firstly it can help you in obtaining credits towards a qualification namely: THE NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN FREIGHT HANDLING or NATIONAL CERTIFICATE: PROFESSIONAL DRIVING, at LEVEL 3.

        Secondly, you are also able to demonstrate your competence in the following outcomes:

    Identify and classify freight. Handle, load and store freight. Achieve maximum work performance of lifting equipment and attachments. Operate equipment in accordance with organizational and legislative standards and procedures. Access available support systems and emergency services in case of incidents and accidents.

- Identify and name the main components and attachments

- Have a sound understanding of the principles and purpose of the relevant    components, systems and attachments

Dates are being arranged per request and the timeframe may vary form

Novice (new licenses) of about 3-5 days and a Refresher licence (renewal of licence) to a 1 day course.

Training will be conducted within a formal learning environment at a workplace.
